Therapy for minor injuriess.
Foot bend, minor scratches and wounds, headache, earache, toothache, muscle pain, these were the things which used to happen quite often with me and left me irritated with a feeling of vulnerability. For some days I couldn't eat due to my wisdom tooth pain, couldn't sleep due to my ear piercing infection or another day I couldn't walk due to foot injury while playing.
However, when I changed my outlook one day, such incidents were no longer unwanted or irritating in fact, a blessing to do things which we are not able to do normally either due to lack of time or just we don't want to do. This change in outlook didn't happen overnight, it was a process that was initiated with none other than my positive thinking books, which according to me works best when we are troubled with our circumstances the most. It is that time when we can relate to it the most, the only condition being you need to have an open mind to accept it and apply it even if you find it strange and stupid.
My experience starts with my wisdom tooth pain because of which I was not able to eat anything. It troubled a lot, Due to lack of energy I was not able to do anything and work accumulated day after day, which stressed me a lot. Due to the lockdown, there was no means of seeing the dentist, I was left with no option but to bear it and live with it. I wanted to cook but I couldn't as won't be able to have it. I couldn't, play as I was not having enough energy for it. Days passed on, nothing improved.
I picked up a book: The Power. (after all what else I can do lying on the bed). There was a chapter on ''Health'', I read it, found it strange yet interesting. The crux of that chapter was - if you are not healthy for whatsoever reason, you can treat it yourself! Yes, you do need medication and proper treatment for severe illness but they won't help you unless you give yourself a therapy. The first thing to do is to have a daily affirmation of being healthy and offer gratitude for your blessings. Next, is try to understand why it all happened? As nothing is a coincidence. there is a reason for everything. The universe is trying to signal you something, you need to catch it and decode it. It could be anything, changed behaviour, new habits, new task etc.
It sounds vague, but let me elaborate on how I did it.
I started with practising gratitude, which already is my favourite thing to do. I believe that you can come out of any difficult situation by being grateful and offering love to everyone. I used to thank God for giving me a healthy tooth, then I used to appreciate my body for working hard to recover fast. No matter how much pain I experience I never skipped this thing.
Next, I started exploring what things I can do to divert my mind. I started by making cards and painting stones and improved my drawing skills a lot. After that, I started reading my books which I had bought long ago, but couldn't read them. And finally landed in the kitchen to explore what innovative I can cook to not to trouble my tooth.
Within a few days, I was super busy with all this and due to such positivity, I was able to see a dentist in my colony itself, got medication which earlier seems impossible and I recovered within 2 days. In the end, my wisdom tooth gave me wisdom!
this experience gave me a new outlook which I applied recently again during my foot injury which left me almost disable. I talked to my immune system that I have full trust in you and that you will recover fast and I will offer every possible support too you and also apologise for not taking due care of it when needed. And guess what, the foot which was not moving at all in the morning was fully working by the evening. My wisdom tooth introduced me to my lost drawing and my foot injury gave a boost to my writing.
Now I firmly believe in the process of self-healing, yes it does work and it can make miracles happen. Such a difficult time offer you an opportunity to introspect and improve yourself, by carefully listening to your needs and respecting them along with motivating yourself like you would another person even if you know its gonna be difficult.
